Download Check for WooCommerce — Files & Access Diagnostics
A read-only diagnostic tool for WooCommerce stores selling downloadable products.
Review the local file and native order permissions together to narrow down why a customer cannot download.
Checks include:
• Missing or unreadable files inside the current WordPress uploads folder.
• Native order download eligibility, missing permissions, expired access and exhausted download counts.
• Permission identity mismatches and outdated file references.
• Approved download directories and delivery-setting warnings.
• One product/variation, one order, or a paginated downloadable catalog.
• A redacted JSON report for support. Customer names/emails, order keys, file locations and raw file IDs are omitted; order/product IDs remain.
No automatic repair, access grants/revocation, file-content reading, remote file probes or customer messages. Extension-generated files and external/CDN/signed locations remain unverified; native permission records can still be inspected when an extension supplies a WooCommerce file descriptor.
A readable file or matching permission is not proof that actual customer delivery works or that public file access is blocked. Hosting modules, customer sessions and real delivery need separate testing.
Scope: 20 catalog products per page; up to 50 files per product, 50 checked order items and 250 inspected permission records. Over-limit reports flag incomplete checks.
Requires WordPress 7.0+, WooCommerce 11.0+ and PHP 8.1+. Administrator or Shop Manager access is required.
Version 0.1.1 is an early test release. Installable ZIP, GPL licence, English/French interface and instructions included. No external account, telemetry, licence server or automatic-update service. Use trusted manual ZIP updates. Test on staging first.
