A carefully cleaned and resized digital edition of the historic Carreras Tobacco Company Lenormand (c.1926), prepared especially for creators and artisans.

Lenormand cards have a surprisingly charming history. In 1926, the Carreras Tobacco Company began placing a single Lenormand “Fortune Telling Card” inside every pack of their Black Cat cigarettes. Printed in Germany by the famous Dondorf firm, these cards featured classic Lenormand imagery and came in several variations, in both wide and narrow sizes to fit different cigarette packs. Collectors would receive one card per pack, slowly building a complete 36‑card deck.

This was part of a wider trend where tobacco companies used illustrated stiffener cards to protect their products while offering something collectible and enticing. Today, the 1926 Carreras Lenormand cards are highly sought after for their distinctive artwork and vintage charm. This restored version preserves that historic character, making it a beautiful resource for creators, readers, and anyone who loves the heritage of Lenormand.

I used these images to craft my own traditional Lenormand deck, using my creative vision, adding my artistic 'oil painting' finish and a custom border with bleed to achieve the look shown in the samples.
