Harmonious Tarot - Walter Crane Illustrations (1800s) – Digital Download Edition

Enjoy the history of tarot with this carefully edited digital edition of the Harmonious Tarot. The illustrations are by Walter Crane, an artist best known for his richly decorative work in Victorian children’s books. These images were later adapted for tarot use, with modifications attributed to Ernest Fitzpatrick to better align with traditional tarot structure.

This deck is celebrated for its ornate detail and distinctive vintage character. Each card has been carefully cleaned, resized, and aligned, with uneven borders removed while preserving the original aged tone and intricate linework.

I used these images to create my own Harmonious Tarot deck in a muted, refined style. By working with a neutral palette, subtle shading, and limited colour, and adding a custom border with bleed, I achieved the look shown in the sample images.
