On clear cold nights, Canadians stand in awe of the magnificent display of Northern Lights in our skies. Both the compass star and the flying geese which encircle the North Star in this design are foundation pieced. Full sized patterns included to make wall-hanging and runner.  

Finished Size: Wallhanging 24" square Table Runner: 12" x 24"

Materials Required: (115 cm wide)

Blue: 1 m (1 yard) for wall-hanging

Graphite: .25 m (1/4 yard)*

White: .25 m (1/4 yard)*

Purple: .25 m (1/4 yard)*

Pink: .25 m (1/4 yard)*

Lime: .25 m (1/4 yard)*

.6 m (3/4 yard) backing fabric

66 cm (26") square of batting

Sewing and quilting thread to match

* Using Fat Quarters will work, but running quarter-metre cuts will make for fewer seams when pieced for binding.

To Make Runner: .75 m Blue, .25 m (1/4 yard) EACH of Graphite, White, Purple, Pink, Lime
