Behavior Contract Templates for School, Home and Job Site: Editable, High School
A behavior contract should be short, two sided, written with the student, and about something they actually want. Most of the ones I have seen are a list of every rule the kid has broken with a signature line at the bottom. That never works.
What's included:
• A do and avoid guide for contracts that work
• Younger students version
• Upper elementary version
• Middle and high school version
• A home contract and a work site contract
• A weekly review strip
How I'd use it:
One or two goals, in the student's words, with what the adults agree to do. Set a review date and an end date, because contracts should end. The work site version is a nice bridge for students in work based learning. Editable Word file included.
The weekly review strip gets the contract checked every week instead of forgotten in a folder. The home version gives families a simple way to work on one thing together. Contracts work best for students who can understand a delay between effort and reward, usually about 2nd grade and up.
Who it's for: Teachers, families, job coaches, and students. Grades K 12, plus adult education.
What you download: one printable PDF, 5 pages, US Letter, plus an editable Word file so you can type in it.
