FOOL – Walk Not As Fools by Bro H

“Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” [Verse 1] The will was read and put in force The Benefactor died; The blood of Christ brought near the people Who had been cast outside. Chosen before the world’s foundation, Predestined as His sons, Heirs to the covenants and Kingdom— Yet see what we have become. Like one inheriting a fortune Who casts it all away, We leave the riches of our calling For what the world will pay. The mystery of His will made known, The testament in hand— But Israel walks below her birthright And will not understand. [Chorus] Walk not as fools, but walk as wise; Redeem the time—the days are evil. Heirs of the Kingdom living as strangers, Trading your calling for favor with men. The will has been opened, the blood made you near; Why live as though you were cast off again? Understand what the will of the Lord is— Walk not as fools, but walk as wise. [Verse 2] They taught your ears before your eyes Could judge the words you read: That “Gentile” always meant “non-Jew,” That the ten tribes had disappeared; That Israel vanished, the law was ended, And the promises changed hands— Those teachings settled in the mind Before a child could understand. When Paul said, “Gentiles in the flesh,” He spoke to Israel’s seed— A people scattered from their God Whom their Kinsman came to redeem. The far-off were made near by the blood, No longer cast away; It’s harder to show a man he’s been fooled Than it is to lead him astray. [Verse 3] One fool stands behind a pulpit, One lectures in a hall; One claims the earth is six thousand years, One says no God at all. The preacher chains the Book to dogma; The scholar worships chance; Each makes the evidence say what it will not, Then mocks the other man. One wears a suit and quotes the Bible, One wears a spotless coat; Both close their minds around conclusions Decided long ago. The creed-bound fundamentalist, The credentialed scientist enthroned— Two proud manufacturers of fools, While truth stands there alone. [Verse 4] The enemy need not defeat you If shame can seal your mouth; He only has to call you foolish, A bigot standing out. The screen made fathers weak and stupid, The faithful preacher mad; The sitcoms taught our sons to blush At every truth their fathers had. One man hid his faith from view; One performed to gather praise. Neither simply served his Father And held the narrow way. [Bridge] Noah built upon dry ground— By faith, he moved with fear. Abraham went, not knowing where— But he knew his God was near. Moses walked toward the sea; Jericho heard the cry. David ran toward the giant— Faith looked foolish in men’s eyes. [Verse 5] The churches learned respectability, Neither cold nor hot; Their salt had lost its savor, And Christ would spew them out. They kept the steeple, songs, and programs, The outward form remained; But salt without its strength is worthless, Trodden underfoot by men. “Awake, you who sleep; arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.” Have no fellowship with darkness— Do not fear the scorn of men Or bow before their noise; Stand as sons and daughters of the Kingdom; Let the Father hear your voice. [Final Chorus] Walk not as fools, but walk as wise; Redeem the time—the days are evil. Heirs of the Kingdom, remember your calling— No longer strangers or foreigners; You are fellow citizens with the saints, And of the household of God. “The foolishness of God is wiser than men.” Walk not as fools, but walk as wise. [Outro] “For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Therefore watch carefully how you walk— Not as fools, But as wise.
