Lesson 81 - The Defender at the Well
After fleeing across the Sinai desert, Moses rests beside a well in Midian. Soon, the seven daughters of the local priest Jethro (Reuel) arrive to draw water and fill the stone troughs for their father's sheep. Just as the sisters finish hauling up the water, aggressive local shepherds show up and drive the girls away to steal their hard work! In Egypt, Moses reacted to injustice with uncontrolled rage; in Midian, he steps in with disciplined courageārescuing the sisters and watering their entire flock himself. Today we explore protective courage, simple machines, desert wells, and hospitality!
