High Time Top

Knit from the bottom up, the top is essentially a cropped scoop tee with some fringe for flair! The pattern may be considered intermediate as it features a 1x1 cable twist throughout the bust to apply fringe, horizontal knitting, as well as german short rows to shape sleeves. I provide video support to demonstrate these techniques. Other techniques include decreases, folded hem, 2-stitch I-cord, and picking up stitches. Modification options include adding horizontal bust darts, length, and edges (folded hem, rolled, I-cord). The top could be knit in entirely one color or contrasting colors may be used for fringe and I-cord edges.

Sizing: The High Time Top is #sizeinclusive and is offered in 9 sizes with 2-4” (5-10cm) of negative ease. Sizes include XS (S, M, L, 1XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL) to fit a bust measurement of 28-30 (32-34, 36-38, 40-42, 44-46) (48-50, 52-54, 56-58, 60-62)”. The final garment size is 26 (30, 34, 38, 42) (46, 50, 54, 58)”. It is recommended to size down if you are between sizes. All sizes have been tested, save for the 5XL. Suggested Yarn: My samples were both knit in Yarn Matter Pure and Extra Pure DK. Kits are available here and a discount is available with purchase of the pattern.

Yardage Estimates: 470 (546, 610, 663, 741) (837, 913, 1006, 1120) yds or 413 (501, 560, 608, 680) (768, 838, 923, 1027) meters. This is 2 (3, 3, 3, 4) (4, 4, 5, 5) skeins of Yarn Matter’s Extra Pure DK at 246 yds per skein.

Other Materials Needed: US 6 (4mm) and US 7 (4.5mm) Circular Needles in 16” for sleeves, 24” or 36” for body and neckline, stitch markers, crochet hook for applying fringe, tapestry needle for weaving ends, and waste yarn or stitch holders.
