Two Dollars

A small request. A firm refusal. An encounter that stays with her.

Margaret Hale only wants lunch after a painful morning settling her late sister’s estate. When a young man outside a restaurant asks her for two dollars, she declines.

Then he follows her inside.

As his persistence turns into intimidation, Margaret finds herself defending a decision she never expected to explain. He sees a well-dressed woman who can afford to help. She sees a stranger who won’t accept her answer. Neither knows the burdens the other carries.

Two Dollars by Mia Bills is an emotionally honest contemporary fiction ebook exploring grief, poverty, personal boundaries, and the assumptions people make about strangers.

Can you care about someone’s suffering and still say no?

Discover a story where two dollars becomes the smallest part of a much larger question.
