PATTERN! This is a 10-panelled over-bust (including bust gusset) pattern with a beautiful curve to accentuate your waist. Sizes (UK) 8 -20 (US 4 - 16). Approx. Cup sizes A-E. The design is a modern take on stays (without the tabs!) as it is slightly flattening of the bust and has slim straps. Includes 25 page manual of construction notes!

Note – a 2’’ lacing gap is factored into this pattern.

The corset length measures 40cm (16'') or 37.5 (15'') at the centre front and 39.5cm (16'') or 37cm (15'') at the back. There are two different torso lengths - one with the bust at 12.5cm above the waistline and one with it at 10cm above. Instructions are given for altering this vertical height in addition to altering the horizontal measurements. There is a reduction of 4'' at the waist applied to the standard sizes (see photo). You may need to add more bones than indicated for the larger sizes - at least one every 2'' is a good rule of thumb - remember that boning is present to create vertical tension so that the corset doesn't fall down or wrinkle around the waist, rather than give supprt. The amount of boning is one of personal preference - I would recommend making a toile with the bone placement as indicated on the pattern, and adding more if required.

This pattern is drafted in AutoCAD and available as an instant PDF download - you will need to print out on size letter (A) or A4 paper, making sure 'actual size' and 'centre the print' is ticked in your print dialogue box. Also included is a 'bonus' PDF of this pattern (standard sizes only) in a size A0 for printing at actual size on a large format printer.

Please see the photo above for sizes. Note that there are different sections that are added to the waist to result in a variation of sizes other than the standard sizes. So for example, for any waist size you can pair a hip section across 4 different dress sizes (-2'', 0 standard, +2'', +4''). These options get you a little closer to your required measurements before you have to amend the pattern/toile.

It is recommended that you make a toile to the largest of your measurements to check the fit of the pattern – at this stage you can take in the smaller of your measurements, lengthen or shorten if need be, and transfer these amendments to your pattern to ensure a perfect fitting corset!

Please take a look at my website www.corsetsbycaroline.co.uk where I have lots of information about corset making and where it is more cost-effective to buy this design (non EU countries only sorry).

There are no restrictions on the use of this pattern - use to your heart's content. I simply ask that you don't pass on the file or use it to, say, profit from a line of ready-to-wear corsets.
