The Art of Tragedy
A full year of Charlotte Mason literature for grades 9–12: Shakespeare's Macbeth in the fall and Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights in the spring.
Two of the fiercest tragedies in English, read aloud and read slowly, with one question running under both: how much is fate, and how much is our own hand?
HOW IT WORKS
Each term is fifteen weeks. We go through the book section by section, alternating a Read week with a Deep-Dive week. Students narrate first, in their own words, before anyone tells them what to think. Then they Find It, Follow It, and Frame It: notice what is on the page, trace it through the text, and say what it means.
Each term gathers to a Follow-the-Thread essay and a square for the class Quilt. The Macbeth term also includes a debate.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- Thirty weeks of lessons, fifteen per term
- Weekly handouts, projects, and writing lessons
- Capstone materials for both terms
- An optional Honors track
