Combatant Craft Medium

Having entered initial service in late 2015, the Combatant Craft Medium (CCM) Mk 1 is a relatively recent addition to the fleet of the Naval Special Warfare. SWCC Special Boat Teams operate CCMs.

The MK V Special Operations Craft (MK V SOC), which is now withdrawn from service, and the NSW RHIB, whose numbers will be lowered, will be partially replaced by the CCM. It is a multi-mission, low-observable, reconfigurable surface tactical mobility vessel whose main function is to deploy and remove special operations soldiers into settings with low-to-medium danger levels. In addition, it can conduct counterterrorism, foreign internal defense operations, maritime interdiction, visit board search and seizure (VBSS) missions, and limited fire support.
