Good value for the money

I followed along with his instructional YouTube videos to make the first three of analog LUTs. It’s not hard to follow the directions but there are around 17 effects at about 18 minutes each, which means it would take just over 5 hours to do all of them if you don’t pause the video, not including any other LUT he adds in the future (yes, once purchased you get additional LUTs added later). So the question is, is your time worth more than $3 per hour? If so, this is worth purchasing.

The effects themselves are good and the subtle differences between the different films do more than I originally thought they would. It’s not film, and never will be, but if you like the “film look” these do a good job of trying to mimic it if you’re not ready to drop $30 per roll.

Pretty Good Film Presets

I own quite a few presets including those from Mastin Labs and I must say Tone’s presets are nice and help remove the digital look. I especially like the Lomography Color 92 profile. Another thing I must say is my appreciation for the author’s willingness to share his process with viewers and his desire to ensure that skin tones look good.

Good but missing something.

What needs to be included is a color calibration profile to enhance the presets. Using adobe standard is not correct.

Looks nothing like film stock

Gave these presets a go on a whim and really wish I hadn’t. Tried applying them to a variety of images with a variety of lighting conditions and all of them looked horribly washed out.
