Topia is a narrative- describing spatial research of life routine with its everyday components, where the build environment is being tested to the extreme and nature is taking over and reclaiming the space.
Changing the balance of power puts a new perspective on the future of the built environment but also highlights the mistakes of the past.
The research was conducted using Dessau (Germany) and its region as a local case study. In order to lead the narrative into the future, assumptions were made based on previous researches regarding local and global issues and trends.
The research reveals the toxic impact of the exist built environment once people are gone and no longer resist nature, which also makes us understand the amount of energy we waste trying resist nature. The research demonstrates the advantages of designing with nature and emphasis the role of a planner, highlighting the value of new working methods.
