Wanderlust-Your Guide to Wondering Adventurously
You may have always wanted to wander the world doing things that most people have never heard of or would even consider doing. I know I have. It is important to understand what it means to wander adventurously. Various sources give various definitions, but the one I like is from Your Dictionary (yourdictionary.com:) An impulse, longing, or urge to wander or travel. I want to change the word “or” to “and” and add that it must be somewhere that offers a challenge. It can be anywhere, doing something that is alive, exciting, and meaningful different from your normal routine.
Dan Scotti in a March 3, 2015 article in elitedaily.com titled The Wanderlust Gene: Why Some People Are Born To Travel stated “the gene itself, which is identified as DRD4-7R, has been dubbed the “wanderlust gene,” because of its correlation with increased levels of curiosity and restlessness.” He went on to say that much research has been done discovering other characteristics and reasons why this occurs such as the way you are raised, and oddly enough, I am guilty of at least ninety percent of them.
Many people, even if they have never traveled or have traveled little, have what some call a “bucket list,” a dream of going somewhere unique and very different from their routine life. Some may want to go to Paris, others to Xian, China, while others may want to circumnavigate the globe. Some including me may even want to visit a Moscow cemetery where many famous Russians are buried. All of these and many other examples encompass adventure travel if they represent a dream and a level of living different from that which you daily live.
This book gives many of my and other wandering adventurously examples to help inspire you to better and bring excitement to your life – to fulfill you urge and desire to wander adventurously.
