This executive function at work bundle gives students five job site task boxes for the skills that keep a worker steady on a shift: starting, planning, pacing, prioritizing, and staying organized.

Why I made this: Students rarely lose a job because they cannot do the task. They struggle with what happens around the task: getting started, knowing what comes first, keeping pace, and leaving the area ready. I built these five boxes so each of those skills gets its own calm, leveled practice drawn from real shifts.

What’s included:

• Getting Started Task Box | Task Initiation + First Steps at Work | SPED (21 pages)

• Planning My Shift Task Box | Order Tasks, Gather Materials + Checklists (21 pages)

• Time Sense Task Box | Estimate, Pace + Finish on Time | Job Skills (21 pages)

• What Comes First? Prioritizing Work Tasks | Job Skills Task Box (21 pages)

• Organize My Work Area Task Box | Tools, Bag + Materials Ready | Job Skills (21 pages)

In all: 105 pages and 300 cards. Each box holds a teacher page, 60 leveled cards (12 at Level A, 24 at Level B, 24 at Level C), a mat, a reference page, three practice pages, and a key that marks the twist cards. Each box also has a data sheet with a graph, a real job check for staff, and blank cards.

How to use it: Teach one box every two weeks, or begin with the skill that trips a student up most at work. Students move through the levels and check their own answers with the codes. Then they try it on a real shift while you score the short staff check.

Who it’s for: Special education teachers in high school and 18 to 21 programs, job coaches, and paras who want students from 14 to 21 to work more on their own.

Format: Five PDFs (US Letter, 21 pages each) and a Word copy of each box you can edit. Each level is marked with a word and a shape, so the pages print well without color.

How this is different: Task Analysis Data Sheets | 20 Life Skills + Job Skills Routines | Special Ed track the steps of a routine, and Flexible Thinking Task Box | Plan B + Handling Change for Special Ed covers change. These boxes cover the executive function skills around the work itself, with job site examples only.
