Five SEL Routines You Can Use Tomorrow
Before you spend a budget line on anything, try the routines.
This free printable gives you five short practices you can run with a group of four- to seven-year-olds starting tomorrow. Each one takes under five minutes, needs no materials beyond what is already in the room, and targets one thing a young child can learn to do.
Naming a feeling out loud. Calming the body with River Breath. Stopping to think before choosing. Noticing that someone else has a story too. Working out a disagreement without a winner.
These are the same routines built into the Feelings Books, pulled out so you can test them with your own group first. If they land, the books are there. If they do not, you have lost nothing.
