Magaret S. Collins knitted bee hat & mittens pattern set

This is a pattern for a pair of mittens with a matching hat. Both are worked from the bottom up and in the round, using the stranded knitting technique.

Size of mittens is determined by needles/gauge.

34 sts x 34 rows = 4in/10cm

measured over stranded stockinette on 2.25mm needles

32 sts x 32 rows = 4in/10cm

measured over stranded stockinette on 2.5mm needles

28 sts x 28 rows = 4in/10cm

measured over stranded stockinette on 3.25mm needles

Some knitters work stranded and single-coloured at different gauges. Change needles, as needed, to keep the stitch gauge the same throughout.

7.5 (8, 8.5, 9) in / 19 (20, 21.5, 23) cm to be worn with 0.5 - 1 in / 1.5 - 2.5 cm positive ease.
