Travel Book Five-What You Need to Know about the Reality of Travel
Traveling is fun, exciting, exasperating, infuriating, educational, and practically every emotion you have ever experienced and probably some you have yet experienced. Even I who has traveled to nearly every country on earth numerous times over five decades with all forms of transportation and travel styles and types often experience these feelings and emotions. I consider them part of the travel experience as they are part of life. The secret is how you control them. I have found the best way to control or at least minimize the negative and accentuate the positive experiences and emotions is through knowledge and being prepared.
The reality of travel often is the worst part of a vacation. Realities that still bother me after experiencing them hundreds of times include:
- Clearing airport security
- Immigration and customs
- Checking into a hotel and finding I have no reservation
- Flights are cancelled, delayed, or overbooked
- The weather did not cooperate with what I planned to do
Regardless of the level and type of or how often you travel, you will have many questions arise as you start your travel plans including:
- Do I need a passport?
- What is a visa?
- How much money should I take on my vacation?
- What do I do if something goes wrong on my trip?
- Can I take my laptop and mobile devices internationally?
- What kind of luggage do I need?
These and other questions must be answered before you make a vacation reservation, prepare for your trip, and while you are traveling. This book answers these and other questions by introducing and discussing numerous topics about the reality of travel.
