Hands on Art History for Creative Minds
Combining history + visual arts to create a creative educational environment
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Welcome to our ongoing art history club for artists of all levels, where we will focus on a variety of historical painters throughout time.
This is a social course that is perfect for beginner artists and specializes in discussing historical art pieces from an analytical perspective. First, we will begin class learning about a specific artist from a historical movement and the techniques used to communicate their ideas. We will ask questions like why the artist did what they did and how they did it. We will focus on the history behind each piece and the events that may have influenced the artist to make that specific work.
We will also focus on various techniques the artist has used throughout history, and then we will use our own materials to implement those techniques in class during talk time. In addition to game time, we will then make our own artwork in response to the artwork we have just studied. All students are welcome to bring their own coloring or painting materials to class.
This is a homeschool-friendly course that integrates various subject matters, such as art and history, into its curriculum while fostering a social environment where students can learn through play. After the demo and game time, talking amongst each other is encouraged.

FAQs
-
If you did not purchase your class via an ESA account, then the class you are interested in receiving a refund on will be determined on an as-needed basis, as long as the following policies have not been violated:
-
Class will begin on time. If you have issues logging in, please notify me as soon as possible. If I have not been notified within the first ten minutes, then class will be canceled for that week, and no refund will be issued.
Depending on the particular situation, the class itself may be eligible for a refund. However, no-shows or last-minute cancellations will deem the session ineligible for any refunds.
-
In any normal situation students are not allotted a refund for last minute cancellations or for class cancelations that occur due to late arrival or no-shows. In addition, any cancellations that occur a week before the class takes place are eligible for a refund but any made after that will need to be taken under consideration, depending on the current situation.
Emergencies happen, and to account for that, each student is allotted at least one emergency cancellation per semester where they are given the opportunity for a refund.
