V.E.G

By Shaniah Ashvini Navaratnam

Throughout my whole life, I've always extremely been passionate about cooking, but whilst growing up I never realized how I was contributing to an unsustainable future. Constant meat and dairy production involves torturous methods towards animals which I for one do not want to support. Eating sustainably, means eating more organic whole foods, that involve less transportation & industrial methods to get to your plate.  In this book, I will encourage you to purchase locally & provide you with tips to do so, even in an import reliant country like Singapore. The industrial foods which are now being consumed as a part of our daily diets are completely unhealthy with all the unnecessary chemicals, sugars, oils and fats added just to maintain a longer shelf life. We are being brainwashed into thinking we need these products, instead of consuming real whole foods that provide all the necessary nutrients needed for the body to function properly. I've noticed that many others, including myself previously don't find the sound of eating vegetables & fruits daily particularly appetizing but my aim with this cookbook is to show you that healthy sustainable eating can be delicious. Through eating a vegetarian & vegan lifestyle, my body always feels more energetic, as can yours.

The recipes will include food from different cultures such as:

Italian,

Indian,

Sri Lankan,

American,

Thai,

Chinese and much more.

I hope you enjoy this cookbook as I tried to make it appeal to all of you reading this even through including healthier & more sustainable options to foods consumed daily such as scrambled eggs, greek yogurt, pancakes, pizza etc. A majority of the 31 recipes included are plant based, and even have options to make the recipe fully plant-based if you wish to do so. Most importantly they are delicious!
