Pirate radio (unlicensed radio broadcasting) has played a historically significant though usually ignored role in the greater cause of freedom of the press and opposition to government tyranny (like Andrew Yoder noted); though today other forms of broadcasting may seem to have eclipsed it, we still need to honor and advance pirate radio in order to maximize freedom of the press.
