Overview

This is a story about memory imprints through time. A couple living in London, spend

their entire life savings to buy a shoe repair shop in San Jose, Costa Rica. As they get

shoes dropped off, they glean information from people’s lives by the spirit left in their

shoe soles. The husband is on a mission to get a flying insect from the dinosaur era,

similar to Meganeuropsis Permiana added to the history books. He has memory

imprints from that time when he remembers being a crawling insect who was friends

with one of the huge flying bugs. Everywhere he walks, his shoes leave a light smudge

as if he were working in the La Brea Tar Pits, searching for fossil descendants of the
