Sun Tzu
Born as Sun Wu around 544 BC, he is better known for his honorific name, Sun Tzu, which means "master." Sun Tzu was a Chinese general, military strategist and reputed author of The Art of War, which is known as the earliest military treatise and has been used significantly as a systematic guide to war. His book stresses how important it is to truly "know your enemy" and use brains over brawn, so to speak, as much as possible.
It could be said that Sun Tzu perfectly understood the concept of "work smarter, not harder," as he encouraged utilizing philosophy, wit, and careful planning to avoid unnecessary, rash physical altercations on the battlefield. Interestingly, many of his Art of War quotes that center on strategizing and finding victory over an enemy have impacted plenty of other competitive sectors—even in today's culture.
Written over 2,500 years ago, this edition of "The Art of War" includes uniquely sourced passages and lesser-known insights attributed to Sun Tzu, offering a deeper look into his original thinking on warfare, discipline, and mental mastery. If you're seeking more than the usual surface-level translation, this is the edition that reveals what others leave behind.
"Convince your enemy that he will gain very little by attacking you; this will diminish his enthusiasm."

The Art of War
"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near."
-Sun Tzu

Read about the man who mastered the battlefield before stepping onto it: A man who planned in shadows and conquered in silence. Known in Chinese as Bingfa, this guide features information about various battle maneuvers and tactics, as well as strategic advice on collecting information about the enemy’s location and battlefield terrain before attacking.
Sun Tzu said:
“If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.”
The Art Of War by the ancient Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu was first written around the 5th century BC. It is the oldest military treatise in the world, and to this day, remains the most influential strategy text in East Asian warfare. The book is comprised of thirteen chapters with each one being devoted to a specific set of skills and how to use them in war.
Explaining everything from laying initial plans, to defense, the economy of war, the use of creativity, the need for flexibility, the use of spies, common situations, and more, The Art of War really is a complete treatise on military strategy. In addition, the rules within it have also been applied to diverse areas such as business, sport, and legal tactics.
Originally written over 2,500 years ago and translated in 1910, this edition contains Iron Scroll Editions that restores the full depth of his teachings, paired with stunning black-and-white illustrations that bring his philosophy to life. Read this book like you have never read before: rare insights and passages not found in modern abridged versions—echoes of strategy that shaped kings and revolutionaries.
Because true power lies not in fighting, but in knowing exactly when not to!
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
Know when to fight and when not to fight: avoid what is strong and strike at what is weak. Know how to deceive the enemy: appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak. Know your strengths and weaknesses: if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
What people are saying

"This particular edition bears some lost excerpts of Sun Tzu. I was able to wholly read and understand the book much better. "The Art Of War" is truly an inspirational and informational piece of text written by Sun Tzu. The book goes through some of the best ways to execute a thorough and true war plan to conquer your enemies no matter what you are presented with.
The type of writing style in this edition maintains the original concepts but still very easy to connect to and provides a deep understanding about what is being said. There are a few such instances of these deep quotes that I would like to talk about. The first one that I read I now recite to myself all the time no matter what I’m or where I'm going. Danger is a sign something is not right or not safe: Sun Tzu says “Danger has a bracing effect.” This stays in my mind because It makes me feel at ease because even if there's danger it may be subtle or a pushing factor into doing something the right or safe way.
Another one that sticks out to me is Sun Tzu saying “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity”. This quotation sticks with me too because it means that no matter what comes your way or what attacks you there is always an opportunity to do the right thing or learn from it.
I truly believe that this book is an amazing book for many different demographics because of the true meaning behind it. It was a good read and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an inspirational and informational book."

"Being a woman in a man's world I usually read it every day to survive and thrive. I considered it my Bible and gave me the gumption to attack and conquer the sharks and snakes that surrounded me. I rolled played and escalated from a secretary to Vice President of a major bank. I ended up with many other women suing and winning a major lawsuit and used the lessons I learned to propel me and give me the confidence I needed to beat the odds."

"Finally found the true original version of this book! I have read quite a few editions before but this is exactly the version I envisioned! Written over two thousand years ago, in a time when wars were fought with chariots, this book offers succinct advice for military commanders.
Two quotes to give a flavor of the book:
"All warfare is based on deception."
"Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting."
Forget all other editions you have read, this is the MOST eye-opening! I highly recommend!!"

If you answer all of these questions, this book will definitely make worth of your enjoyment during your boring or slow day. It'll be like taking a candy from a baby once you finish this book. However, if you plan to buy this book, you must be ready and be willing to be a fighter like the wind, such as Sun Tzu, Muhammad Ali, Yi Soon Shin, and other great heroes who have fought through many challenges and won them through the end."

"You have not yet read "The Art of War" until you have laid your hands on this particular version! A book everyone should read! takes you to another way to look at life, work, and every thing in between. Written in a way that can be well understood but takes a "higher mind" to really allow it to sink in. If you have an afternoon go through it and take it in, you'll look at the world in a different light and maybe you might even realize that you know a lot of this already but be open minded and take in everything it says because The Art of War is something else! I highly recommend it, one of my favorites! fast shipping :)"
