G Bluesy Pentatonic Lick (with Variation)

The Pentatonic scale is one of the best ways to play faster licks and one of the most little-known tools in a flat picker's arsenal.

Simply put, the Pentatonic scale removes two of the seven notes in a Major scale. The result: five (penta-) tones (tonic) in total, which makes for fewer notes to keep up with—and faster licks!
