This is a pattern for to knit a tammy and/or beanie style hat. Both hats are worked from the bottom up and in the round, using the stranded colourwork technique.


I include designations of ‘light & dark’ for the colours to help you choose yarn from your stash.


yarn:

2 Ply Jumper Weight by Jamieson & Smith; Light Fingering; 100% Shetland 125yds (115m) / 25 grams

approximate yarn amounts:

colour A (FC12, dark) - 25g; 125yds / 115m {17g; 40yds / 37m}

colour B (9113, dark), colour C (FC38 dark), colour D (FC34, light), colour E (FC51, light), and colour F (28, light) - 10g; 50yds / 46m {5g; 25yds / 23m}

needles:

2.5mm (us no 1.5) circular or DPNs, 16in/41cm and DPNs 6in/15cm

3.0mm (us no 2.5) circular, 16in/41cm and DPNs 6in/15cm

gauge:

28 sts x 32 rows = 4in/10cm

measured over stranded stockinette on larger needles

approximate finished size:

one size fits many 21-25 in/53cm-63.5 cm head
