Seventeen Eighteen Past Lies Waiting is a story with its roots deep in the past, abruptly cropping up in the present when an old friend of Donald’s kills a man and he’s needed: not for Miranda, ever independent, but for their biological son. The story is in early 2016, before the politics of that extraordinary year dominated all our thoughts, but no book set in 2016 could be topical without a political nod.
The book also sparked a spin-off, The Money Honey, which is harsh and too raunchy to be a Lawns story. Because I thank you for buying on my private website, I'm adding in a slightly abridged version of the spin-off - same price, so read it, don't read it, as you choose. I like to think the Lawns books are comfortable reading, MoHo isn't. Miranda had some hard decisions to make, and very few options.
