Astral Observatory - Orrery & Chart Table STL Scenery + CAD

Give a fantasy observatory, wizard's archive or cartographer's study a distinctive centerpiece. This $3 pair includes the Celestial Orrery and Chartmaker's Console as two original STL meshes with two matching editable OpenSCAD sources. Try the console free sample first; it is one of the same two models, not an additional model.

CELESTIAL ORRERY

An engraved radial dais, fluted pedestal, fixed gear teeth, globe with raised bands and abstract relief, broad riveted meridian, equatorial and inclined rings, supporting spokes and corner finial plinths. The nominal tiled base is 101.6 mm square. Rings and globe are fixed ornaments; no working mechanism or astronomical calibration.

CHARTMAKER'S CONSOLE

A table with banded tapered supports, stretcher, thick backed chart with recessed routes, two rolled chart edges, raised twelve-mark compass and fixed needle, shelf and three grooved books. Nominal tiled base: 76.2 x 50.8 mm. No removable scrolls, opening books or working compass.

Two STLs, two editable CAD sources, front/rear mesh previews, exact dimensions and size guide, geometry/source/slicer reports, six selected orrery layer diagrams, instructions and three short original system-neutral scene seeds for private games. No rules, stat blocks, maps, tokens, extra rooms, physical products, textures, painted finish, pre-supports, G-code or printer profiles.

No specific game figure scale or connector-system compatibility is claimed.

CHECKS AND PRINTING

Both delivered meshes passed watertightness, winding, positive volume,

single-body, flat base at Z0 and nonempty 0.2 mm horizontal-section checks.

Both exact sources compiled in OpenSCAD 2026.10.25 development snapshot,

Manifold backend, matching within recorded tolerances: bounds 0.02 mm,

relative volume 0.5%, symmetric-difference volume 1%. This is tolerance

agreement, not exact equivalence. Other compiler versions/backends and edits untested.

Both STLs independently sliced in official OrcaSlicer 2.4.2 with one K1 SE

0.4 mm / PLA / 0.16 mm profile, 3 walls, 15% infill, normal automatic supports,

base down at 100%. Input hashes, embedded settings, nonempty named layers and

extrusion XYZ bounds checked. Six selected orrery model layers visually reviewed.

No physical test print, resin workflow or other printer/material tested.

Supports, support removal, ring survival, adhesion, strength, finish, dimensions

and actual printer behavior remain unverified. Inspect every layer and support

for your own machine and make a trial print. No pre-supported files supplied.

Fine engravings, ring intersections, rivets and scroll ends need careful support review and can be fragile or disappear when scaled down. Actual delivered-mesh previews are shown, not photographs of prints.
