Athalia is a crescent shawl worked from the bottom up. The bottom edge is lace, worked in three colors, and the body of the shawl is worked in simple stockinette stitch. Short rows are used to shape the shawl.

Skills Needed
Basic knitting skills, lace knitting skills, short rows.

Materials
Baah Aspen (75% merino, 15% silk, 10% cashmere; 330 yd 302 m/3 1/2 oz 100 g): aubergine (MC) 1 skein; amethyst (CC1), rosa (CC2), 1 skein each.

Needles 
Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 40” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions 
Tapestry needle.

Gauge 
15 sts and 24 rows = 4” in St st on smaller needles.

Finished Size 
51” wide and 9 1/2” deep.
