October Ink: Hawthorn 25ml

Made mainly from hawthorn berries with a subtle golden undertone from mullein flowers, foraged from Port Meadows and University Parks, both walking distance from my house.

User notes:

This ink has a little gum arabic as binder, and the bottles also contain a clove as mould deterrent. It's suitable for use with any dipping instrument: bamboo/reed pens, metal nibs (provided they are rinsed after use), quill pens, watercolour brushes, but too thick for fountain pens.

Also note that if you pool it too thickly, it will be a little sticky, as the hawthorn berries were really sweet this year!

Lifespan:

Best used within six month (by April 2026).
