Most guitar methods give you five shapes for every scale. Some give you seven. Then there’s another set for arpeggios and another for chords, and you spend years memorising boxes before any of it turns into music.

This system uses two.

Every scale, arpeggio and chord in these books sits in the same two positions, both built from a single root. Position 1 reaches forward up the neck and Position 2 reaches back. Each position ends on a root, so you chain them together to cover the whole fretboard. Once you have the two positions, you don’t learn new shapes. You learn what goes inside them.

This bundle is all four books in the series as PDFs.

What’s in it

  • 2 Position Guitar Scale System: Scales and Arpeggios. The core system. Two positions in every key, scale changes, open-position scales, stacking for wider coverage, and arpeggios worked into the same framework.
  • The 2 Position Guitar Chord System. Two grips for every chord, taken from the same positions. Position 2 puts the root on the bottom and Position 1 puts the 3rd on the bottom. That one rule covers triads, sixths, sus chords and sevenths.
  • Exotic Scales You’ll Actually Use. Ten exotic scales, from Phrygian dominant to Hirajoshi. Each one is a scale you already know with a note or two moved, and each comes with the chords it fits, the chords to avoid, and phrases that sound like music rather than an exercise.
  • The 2 Position Bass System. The same system on bass, covering scales, chord tones and chords in one book. Every string on a bass is a fourth apart, so the patterns never warp.

Each book stands on its own and teaches the two positions from scratch, so there’s no reading order. Because they share the same two positions, whatever you learn in one carries straight into the others.

There’s no notation. Everything is on fretboard diagrams labelled with intervals, so it all works in any key. Exotic Scales adds short phrases in tab, and the bass book has no tab at all.
