The Magic-Owl Bag is a no-sew crossbody bag for holding small trinkets and tiny treasures when exploring the forest. It’s nifty, eco-friendly, and useful. The strap’s length can be easily adjusted and the design is customizable with endless color combinations. The design features textured puff stitches made of dc clusters for the owl’s belly, as well as big round eyes, colored wings, and a top that can be pulled up to reveal the bag’s opening. It’s the perfect birthday gift or Christmas holiday gift for animal lovers who have a penchant for whimsical, fantasy, cottagecore, and woodland styles! Can easily be customized to make a Hedwig from Harry Potter, too. 

The PDF pattern includes in-line progress photos as part of a detailed photo tutorial to help guide you through the crochet process.

MATERIALS

Medium weight 4 yarn in desired colors (I used Hobbii Upcycled Alpaca Blend) 

4mm crochet hook

18mm plastic safety eyes (x2) or buttons

Yarn needle

Scissors

STITCHES & TECHNIQUES USED (US TERMINOLOGY)

FO = fasten off

YO = yarn over

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)

dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together)

dc = double crochet

dc-inc = double crochet increase (2 dc in same st) 

dc-dec = double crochet decrease (dc 2 sts together)
