This is the plans for the 16th Century Kravik Lyre from Norway,  built in the earlier style of the 12th to 14th centuries One of the warmest and most inviting lyres to play with the flexibility of the 7 strings to give you access to a wider range of chords and melodies,     

This is a  little more complex to build than a flat 6th to 10th-century lyre, drawings show each side,   like a giant hand-carved spoon in cross-section
