LIVING PLACE Nuevo León, Jalisco and Guanajuato will be the entities with the highest housing production in 2020
According to the Single Housing Registry, the production of this sector in Mexico remains active despite the stoppage of activities during the most complicated months of the pandemic, until October of this year, there is a total record of 127 thousand 214 new homes .
The Mexican Real Estate Bank ( BIM ) highlighted in a statement that near the end of the year, Nuevo León, for the seventh year, will be consolidated as the state with the highest production of housing with 20,679, followed by Jalisco with 11,409, and Guanajuato with 8,679.
It should be noted that according to the annual publication "Current State of Housing Mexico 2019", of the Federal Mortgage Society, the expectation for 2020 is that there would be a demand for 851,100 financing for home solutions, which would impact 3.3 million of people.

Although a 30% decrease in housing production is indicated, compared to the total obtained in 2019, BIM highlighted that homes have been produced.

Regarding the production of housing, Víctor Manuel Requejo, president and founder of BIM commented that the year is closing “better, still slow, but it is walking . In construction, the number of jobs or homes that we had last year has not been reached, but they are certainly not the levels of April ”.
He also recalled that the real estate industry in Mexico has remained in constant motion, despite events that occurred such as the 2017 earthquake, hurricane "Willa" in 2018, or the changes of administration that occur in the country every 6 years; which has made the sector adapt to the new circumstances.
For its part, BIM is preparing to close one of the years that has caused the greatest expectation in the real estate industry due to the behavior of production , placement and the impact of Covid-19.
So far the Bank has accumulated a total of 4,040 loans placed, and seeks to close in 2020 with a total of 10,000 homes financed.
At the end of August, its portfolio has served 353 clients who are housing developers, financing 33,000 homes . Currently, the financial institution is in the sixth position in the market with a participation of 7.4% in the bridge loan and in these 7 years, it has financed about 120 thousand homes.
To face in 2021 and the negative effects of 2020, “the speed in the recovery of employment and the stability in the medium and long term will be relevant , BIM will maintain a budget of 7,926 million pesos, with which it seeks to continue supporting to real estate developers in the country and continue promoting economic reactivation ”.
