This finished cot quilt measures approx. 42 x 49" and involves a couple of clever piecing techniques - partially seamed hexagons, and a layout that avoids tackling those tricky Y-seams!

These hexies remind me of floating waterlilies, floating in a sea of white, hence the name. The best thing about this pattern is that you don't need much fabric for the actual hexagons, so you could cut into some of those precious fat quarters saved for a special project!

To make this quilt you will need:
• Seven long or fat quarters (or an assortment of scraps, enough for forty-four
4 1/2" x 5 1/2" rectangles)

• 2.5m white-on-white (or you could use plain white)

• 35cm co-ordinating fabric for binding - if you are using the seven long/fat quarters, you will have enough for a pieced binding.

• 46" x 53" backing and wadding.

This 8-page pattern includes full colour cutting and piecing diagrams, full-size templates and a colour layout plan. I have also included suggestions for a pieced backing and for how to quilt your finished top. Plus, Helping Hand tips and links to my online tutorials will guide you along the way.
