WHY I BEGAN TO WRITE THIS BOOK
I did not originally set out with a plan to write a book.
The idea came to me during a difficult period of my life after my father's death.
One of the things that stayed with me was the realization that I could not support my father while he was sick.
That experience made me think deeply about ability, opportunity, responsibility, leadership, systems, and the value we create while we are alive.
I began asking myself:
✔What does it mean to have potential but not yet have the capacity to solve the problems around you?
✔What does it mean to be surrounded by highly valuable people and still see needs that remain unresolved?
✔And what happens when talented people, resources, institutions, and ideas exist — but are not properly connected?
Those questions pushed me toward writing.
At first, I never thought I was going to write a book.
But as I continued, something changed as I began writing a book.
I began writing about ideas that could do more than fill pages.
I began exploring ideas that could strengthen nations, improve systems, connect people and capabilities, create opportunities, and contribute to the growth of humanity.
The book therefore became larger than my original intention.
It became an exploration of what people can build when they discover their gifts, develop their capacity, take responsibility, and work together.
That is the heart of Born To Build Beyond Borders.
