The Cereus cactus, also known as the Princess of the Night or the Queen of the Night, is a species of cactus whose flower only blooms at night, typically between the months of July and October. The nocturnal flowers are highly fragrant.

The lace pattern of the Cereus Cowl represents the Cereus cactus flower. It knits up quick and the wavy ridge makes a nice, neat edge. The cowl is a nice and elegant layer on top of any outfit and can be draped almost like a capelet or bunched up around the neck.
