THE EMERGENCY LESSON PACK
10 Complete Lessons for When You Have Nothing Planned
ESL Toolbox
It's 7:45. Your class starts at 8:00. We've got you.
Keep ten complete ESL speaking lessons ready for an unexpected cover class, a change of plan or a day when preparation time disappears. Choose a topic, read its quick-start instructions and open the matching classroom slides. The questions, models, reading texts, teacher-read listening scripts, task information and answers are already supplied.
Allow about five minutes to read the selected lesson's instructions, model, script and task after downloading. Each lesson builds from a short warm-up and useful language to a clear speaking outcome. Partners have balanced turns and listeners ask questions, check details or report what they heard.

TIMING AND LEVEL
Every lesson has a complete 60-minute route and an exact 45-minute adaptation. Both retain the final communication outcome and every learner's speaking and listening role. The guide gives stage times, sub-timings and what to shorten. Each lesson also includes a fully written optional five-minute extension and three-minute fallback outside the core timing.
Core level: A2–B1. Specific A1 support and B2 extensions are supplied; these are adaptations, not separate level-specific courses. For teenagers aged 12+ and adults. Suggested class size: approximately 12–40, with routines for small groups, trios, one-to-one lessons and fixed seating. Clear international English with British spelling.
EQUIPMENT AND PRINTING
Use a classroom display or the supplied board-and-oral route. The teacher reads each listening script twice. No printing, cutting, special props, student phones, external audio, video or live internet is required during class. Worksheets are optional. Download and open the files beforehand; access to downloads or software may require internet. The PDF versions work with an ordinary PDF reader. Editable files require compatible presentation and word-processing software; DejaVu Sans is used throughout.
