The Snowy Plover Shawl is inspired by the wings of tiny endangered birds that dwell on the sands of Ocean Beach in San Francisco. These adorable little plovers scuttle back and forth along the water’s edge as the tide ebbs and flows, feasting in sneaky sand crabs. Snowy Plovers get their name from their bright white coats occasionally spotted with brown and black flecks, just like Knit Pick’s City Tweed Aran in colorway Snowshoe, making it the perfect yarn to use for the Snowy Plover shawl.

This triangular shawl knit from the top center and expanding outward. Each RS row of the shawl increases by 4 sts, 1 on each end of the row and 2 in the middle to create a center spine. Large sections of garter ribbing blend into the featured Mock Honeycomb Stitch.
