Our Savannah cat, Luna, was the first to successfully treat FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) in 2017 with GS441524. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Niels Pedersen, this trial at the University of California, Davis, was groundbreaking and changed the feline veterinary world. As a trial participant, I share my experience to help others by spreading knowledge about the treatment process and raising awareness about FIP among owners, breeders, rescues, shelters, and even veterinarians. The Help for FIP™️ organization supports owners of newly diagnosed FIP cats by helping them manage their cat's diagnosis, discussing safe, tested, accessible treatments, and providing supportive resources worldwide.

Essential handbook for FIP parents

This book has been an invaluable touchstone throughout the process of treating my cat Effie for neurological FIP. I’ve reread it countless times, as has my partner, and each time a new symptom or issue crops up we’ve gone back to it for information and guidance. It’s given me great peace of mind to have so many questions answered in one place by someone whose wealth of knowledge and experience is indisputable. I can’t imagine going through this process without this resource. Thank you, Debra!

Excellent Resource Book. Has information on history and studies, treatments, how to guides, what to look for, lab tests and helpful suggestions for the whole treatment journey. Highly recommended!

This book has been my lifeline during my cat’s FIP journey. FIP is often a death sentence on the US for cats, but not in Japan. Finding factual and helpful information on the internet is really difficult and I spent most of a day trying to figure out what to do. Then I came across the Help for FIP website. These amazing people gave me the information I needed and showed me where I could download this book. They helped me get medication immediately and are my partners in saving my cat. I took this book to my vet who said it is an excellent book and is now also helping me through the process. in just 3 days, My cat went from extremely lethargic, huge stomach and days to live to following me around and a 1.5 inch reduction in her stomach girth. I have read through and referenced this book constantly during her treatment and found answers to all of my questions. I urge anyone who has a cat with FIP to immediately get this book. You are likely on your own in figuring this out and need resources. Time is of the essence in starting treatment with FIP. I cannot say enough about the wonderful and overworked people at Help for FIP who helped me save my cat. And yes, Kiki is still alive and thriving. Her 6 week labs came back “much improved” and we are thankful ever day.

The best support group out there!

There are a number of FIP support groups out there. I chose Help for FIP based on customer reviews and feedback. They reached out to me immediately, and have supported my cat and I through this very difficult illness every step of the way. The handbook is very informative and detailed, most questions are answered in this book. I highly recommend Help for FIP, and their handbook!
