About the Author

My Savannah cat, Luna, was the first clinical trial cat to beat FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) in 2017 with GS441524. Under the expert research of Dr. Niels Pedersen, this trial at the University of California, Davis, was a ground-breaking event that changed the feline veterinary world.

As a medical professional and FIP clinical trial participant, I share my experience and help others through my knowledge of the treatment process and by creating awareness about FIP among owners, breeders, rescues, shelters, and even vets. The Help for FIP® organization helps owners of newly diagnosed FIP cats maneuver the uncertainty of FIP treatment worldwide. Our support and care have no bias or boundaries.

Before I read this, I didn't know anything about FIP. Being able to read and gain important information and understanding of this disease helped me cope with my cat having it. I have two other cats at home and anytime I googled it, I could never get a clear answer on whether or not it's contagious to other cats, and I felt like this handbook provided me with that information. If you're like me and haven't heard of FIP until now, this handbook has everything you'll need to know during the process, as well as after. I would highly recommend this to anyone whose kitten has FIP.

This is some of the best possible information you can get on the disease, including tips for caring for your cat during treatment, what to look out for, and guidelines for medicine interactions. Since many vets are still learning about FIP treatment options and the effects the treatment has on cats, having this, in conjunction with advice from your vet, is a must. I recommend you buy two! One for you and one for your vet. This is priceless information.

Very informative for us cat parents who are dealing with FIP. Much is unknown to the general public and cat owners, and even some veterinarians lack the necessary information to treat your kitty. FIP is awful; having the correct information and treatment options has been a game-changer. This book contains a wealth of in-depth information. It's a must-have for any cat parent who has a kitty suffering from FIP.

This is the most well-informed book you can find on FIP! Our Timber was diagnosed and set to be euthanized at just 4 months old. With the knowledge behind this book, I'm grateful to report Timber is now a 14lb 2-year-old! If you love your fur baby and follow this info, you will not regret it!

When our little white floof, Pearl, was diagnosed with FIP Feline Infectious Peritonitis, our Vet, who is part of a nationwide practice, could offer little help. Two more large animal practices, and, again… no help, only a referral to online specialty groups to seek out ourselves. Help for FIP Treatment and Support, of which Debra Roberts, the author of this book, is an administrator, offered immediate help to get us the correct treatment, medication and support. This book is a reflection this. As a medical type journal, the pros flow easily, everything is documented, and the pictures extremely helpful. It is comprehensive, bringing together the bits and pieces found on line. I refer to it often and always find what I need. This fatal disease can be treated! We need the support of our Veterinarians to also help us through the 84-day treatment and bloodwork. But we can also educate them with this book! This book is invaluable.
