American Gothic Illusion - PDF knitting pattern
Look at the knitted picture from directly in front and you will see only stripes. Look at it from the side and you will see Grant Wood's American Gothic.
The knitted panel could be used as a wall-hanging, or a bed-covering. The pattern includes several versions of the chart for printing and one specially intended for mobile devices. You can view 20 ridges at a time and always be able to see the numbers across the bottom of the chart. The knitting is very easy though it requires concentration and accurate counting. If you can knit and purl you can make this.
The panel is 270 stitches wide. The size will depend on the yarn you choose and how tightly you knit. The version shown measures about 120 cm wide and 140 cm high.
