Brian began writing in 1998, while serving in the military. While stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, he met a beautiful woman who invited him to a poetry reading event. At that time, he knew nothing about poetry, but in order to impress the young lady, he too took an interest in writing. Three months later, he met another young lady who wrote poetry. After these two experiences, he was convinced that he too should write. Because he was in the military, he moved around a lot, so in order to keep himself busy, he began to write. The more he wrote, the better he got with both letters and poems that he would send home. Brian is very grateful that he will be able to reach people through this book. He also appreciates everyone who will take the time to read it. The poems are an inspiration to his life as well, and this is why he chose the title that he did. He is confident that readers will be encouraged to go on despite their situation after reading this book.
