Little Red Riding Hood
Little Red Riding Hood
A red cape, a basket of treats, and a wolf who knows a shortcut.
Little Red Riding Hood sets off through the forest with a basket of cake and treats for her grandmother. "Stay on the path," says her mother, "and don't stop to talk to strangers." But along the way, a friendly-looking wolf asks where she is going, and Red Riding Hood tells him.
The wolf races ahead to Grandmother's cottage. When Red Riding Hood arrives, something seems very strange. "Grandmother, what big ears you have!" "All the better to hear you with, my dear!" Luckily, a brave huntsman is passing by.
This gentle retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale teaches young readers to listen to good advice and be careful with strangers, with a safe and happy ending for everyone but the wolf. It ends with the Moral of the Story and Think and Talk questions for reading at home or in class.
