The Boy Who Cried Wolf is one of Aesop’s most well-known fables, teaching a timeless lesson about honesty and trust.

A bored young shepherd boy tasked with watching his village's sheep trick the local townspeople for his own entertainment by shouting that a wolf is attacking the flock. The villagers rush to help, only to find it was a false alarm. After repeating this prank several times, the villagers grow tired of his deception. When a real wolf eventually appears and threatens the sheep, the terrified boy cries out for help once more—but this time, no one believes him, and the wolf destroys the flock.

Moral: Liars are not believed, even when they speak the truth. Honesty builds trust that cannot easily be recovered once broken.
