Mystical Journey for Two Pianos

I composed Mystical Journey in Amsterdam during my eight-month residency there. It was commissioned to be part of an instillation of architectural models that were displayed in the Palazzo delle Exposizione, Rome, Italy.

The work is in three sections, which blend into each other. The first is processional-like in character and is calm and stately. The second is more swirling and dance-like is filled with intricate rhythms that seem to carry the listener to a “higher dimension” The third section is more magical and ethereal in character and by the end the piece the music seems to almost float away.
