Most dictionaries define beauty as something that is pleasurable to the senses. Ugliness, on the other hand, displeases the senses, even to the point of reprehension and invocation of horror at its most displeasing. It is very unattractive or unpleasant to look at; it is offensive to the sense of beauty and it is displeasing in appearance.
