Newly divorced Laurie Harris has got to contend with her obnoxious ex-husband Phillip, her boring, meaningless job, a tiny cramped apartment, trying to balance being a working woman and the mother of a teenage daughter, and a non-existent social life, until Camila Salas Harris, Phillip’s current wife, catches him in bed with his assistant, kicks him out, teams up with Laurie, and begins changing her life for the better.
When Laurie finds the dead body of a popular high school teacher in the early morning hours at Rose Haven High School, she not only starts doing some snooping of her own, but also enlists the help of her new best friend Camila.
Uncovering evidence finds that the teacher owed a large sum of money to a loan shark, had a substantial life insurance on himself with his brand new bride as his beneficiary, and had given a spoiled angry student a low grade, possibly making her ineligible for the cheerleading squad, a position that she is extremely passionate about. Anyone could have been pushed to the act of homicide.
Fingers of guilt begin pointing in every direction and everyone in the school, including the principal, seems to have skeletons in their closets.
When they begin snooping for answers into the death of the well-liked educator, Laurie and Camila begin unearthing unspeakable secrets that some people want to keep buried, and will do anything, including murder, to keep those secrets from being revealed.
