Johann Ernst Altenburg - Concerto for VII trumpets with timpani

A performing edition of Johann Ernst Altenburg's Concerto for 7 trumpets with timpani (Halle, 1795). This edition is based on François Georges Auguste Dauverné's reprint in his Méthode pour la Trompette (Paris, 1857), in which Altenburg's Concerto for VII Trumpets with Tympani is described as a morceau curieux ('curious piece'), Auber, p.5. Dauverné was the first professor of the trumpet at the Paris Conservatoire.
