Alchemy of Happiness – woodblock print

This design reads Kimia' as-Saada, "Alchemy of Happiness", after the book by the philosopher al-Ghazali.

(An edition of this print is in the British Library's Special Collections, and was exhibited among the Treasures of the British Library in 2024!)

Printed on a handmade jig, in a meditative repetition of inking and pressing, each image is imperfect and unique, some more distressed than others.
